Student – Centric Outcome-Based Education: A Progressive Approach to Teaching and Learning
Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is a student-centered instructional model that emphasizes measuring student performance through outcomes, which include knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
OBE prepares students to achieve a set of defined learning outcomes and measures the extent of achievement throughout the learning period. The course teacher for each course or module formulates a set of learning outcomes that a student should be able to demonstrate after completing a given course. These learning outcomes, which encompass cognitive abilities, attitudes, and practical skills, are measured using innovative assessment methods. By mastering these learning outcomes, a student is expected to perform tasks in the subject or course area professionally and with the right attitude.
